Kate Ferdinand has broken her silence after a burglar tried to break into her and Rio’s home.
On Monday, Lorraine asked the hostess how she was and she told her, ‘We are all safe and well.’ Thanks for the question.’
Kate is stepmother to Rio’s three children, Lorenz, 15, Tate, 13, and Tia, 11 – whose mother Rebecca sadly died in 2015 after a battle with cancer – and the couple also have a son together named Cree, two.
Rio, 44, saw the man at his home in south-east London and managed to hand him over to the police.
The former soccer player owns the stunning mansion in an exclusive estate in the Home Counties and is said to have attacked the intruder in his back garden.

He held the man until police arrived while his pregnant wife and children slept in their luxury home.
A source close to the couple confirmed that there was a security incident at their exclusive Home Counties address on Friday.
CCTV footage showed the suspected intruder trying the rear patio doors of the £4million house the night before, reports The Sun.
The man is said to have then stayed in the garden overnight before the former England star confronted and held him while he waited for police.
Former TOWIE star Kate began a relationship with soccer player Rio – two years after Rebecca died of complications from a battle with breast cancer.
Posts on her Instagram account on Saturday gave no indication that there had been an incident as she appeared to be making smoothies for the kids at home. Kate is currently pregnant with the couple’s second child.
In a light-hearted video, she shared with her fans that she’d been making passion fruit and mango smoothies, adding the caption, “Saturdays they’re lazy but very loud.” “Well, it’s loud in this house every day.” “
But the former England centre-back is far from the only player affected by security issues – as the stars are often targeted for their well-known wealth.
During the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, England star Raheem Stirling had to rush home after his home was raided by burglars while he was away.

Love: The couple have been together since 2017 and married in 2019. She is stepmother to Lorenz (15), Tate (13) and Tia (11) – they also have a son together named Cree (two).
The Chelsea striker rushed home from Qatar to check on his family’s well-being after he was “shaken” by the raid on his fenced-in property in leafy Cobham.
In the aftermath, it was understood many of Sterling’s team-mates were considering increasing their own level of protection, with the raid being the latest in a string of break-ins at football players’ homes.
Sterling, a father of three, was also targeted by burglars while playing for Manchester City in 2018 and living in Cheshire. But the gang were scared off when an alarm system went off and returned empty-handed.
Another gang of thieves broke into the home of former England footballer Ashley Cole in January 2020 and threatened to cut off his fingers in the horrific raid.
At the time of the attack, he was at home with his wife and two young children, where he was tied up and awaiting death.
In 2021, former Manchester United footballer Chris Smalling was robbed at home in front of his wife and two-year-old child in a horrific ordeal.
Italian news agency Gazzetta dello Sport reported that three armed robbers broke into the English footballer’s home and forced him to open his family’s safe, where the attackers took jewelry and other valuable items.
Smalling’s wife, Sam, called the police just before 5 a.m. and officers arrived at the family’s villa, which is about 25 miles south of Rome. All three victims were very distressed.
The incident happened when the player was under contract at Roma.

Mixed: Kate moved in with Rio and his three children a few years after his first wife died of cancer
Kate Ferdinand previously spoke on the Parenting Hell podcast about raising her blended family, detailing the changing dynamic with Rio and Rebecca’s three children as they reach their teenage years.
She insisted that she never wanted to take her mother’s place and that knowing Rebecca has made her a better mother.
The Met Police said in a statement to MailOnline that police were called early Friday morning and it is believed only one person was involved.
They said they had “found a 70-year-old man who was arrested by a private security officer in Farnborough and found in the garden of a residential property”.
“Officials spoke to the man and the homeowner of the premises where he was found.”
“The man has been placed under a council order for ‘staying in enclosed premises for an unlawful purpose’, a felony under the Vagrancy Act.” He was not arrested.’
