Reality TV icon Airline Jane reveals the truth about the show after she was portrayed as a ‘cow’ – and goes viral on TikTok more than 20 years later

The reality TV show Airline Jane icon has revealed she believes the show misrepresented her as a ‘cow’.

52-year-old Jane Boulton, whose surname is now Lee, coined the iconic fly-on-the-wall show Airline back in 1998 while working for EasyJet at Luton Airport.

As a married mother of three living in south London, Jane famously had to put up with some very disgruntled passengers.

And while she could handle some pretty cheeky comebacks with these people, she said there was more to her than how she performed on the show.

She told the Metro, “You made me look like a cow.”

“A lot of these passengers that I’ve been with for hours will cut it down to 30 seconds.” Viewers often couldn’t see how much I’ve helped people.

“I’m very empathetic and personable — that’s rarely been shown.” “It feels like an unfair representation of who I really am.”

One of her happiest moments is when she discovered unattended luggage at check-in.

“More unattended luggage,” she said. “They’ll be shocked when they come back and it’s gone,” before laughing evilly.

Discussing an unsafe passenger, she said, “Well, he must be drunk.” He got himself and everything wet. My goodness. “I have to wash my hands.”

When dealing with a rude customer, she said, “How dare he talk to me like that?” I’ve never seen anyone talk to me like that. Because of his language, I was about to fire him at the time. He was so mad and angry.

“Everything for the sake of a battery, you can see that very clearly, you’re not allowed to take it on board.” You know what? I should have hit him on the head with that battery.’

And when she handed in her resignation on the show, she said to the camera, “Hmm, I don’t want to get too close to the staff at the moment.”

She said, “They made me look like a cow,” while saying no one could see just how empathetic she really was behind the scenes

“I handed in my resignation today. I’m moving back to Lanzarote. I was offered to manage a bar in the complex where I used to work.

“I tossed and turned for about four or five days and decided yes. I woke up yesterday morning and thought no. And yesterday afternoon I said yes again.

“Starting today, I will give two months notice.”

After handing in her resignation, she said, “I think I’m going to cry.” I’m feeling really emotional now. I feel like I’m leaving my family. Wants me to stay and now I don’t know if I did the right thing.’

When everyone told her how much they would miss her, she said, “I’ve never experienced so much rudeness and bad behavior as when I was doing this job.”

“You get used to it, you get used to it, people yell at you for 20 minutes and give you information without saying thank you.”

“But it still comes as a shock to me when you help someone and you don’t even get a thank you.”

Jane no longer works in the aviation industry and went out of business in 2014.

She now runs her own company called Party Paradise UK.

The show ended in 2006, and Jane said she’s still in touch with co-stars Leo Jones and Katrina Leeder.

Meanwhile, Jane has gone viral on TikTok, and clips of her comeback from the show are still being sent.

The videos have been viewed more than 26 million times.
