Megan King aimed at her ex-husband Jim Edmonds as an abusive narcissist during her recent podcast appearance.
As they discuss co-parenting (or lack thereof) and their love life, the Real Housewives of Orange County Alum slammed Jim when she claimed he didn’t care about being the parent of their three children, including daughter Aspen, 6, and twin sons Hayes and Hart, 4, and suggested they would be better off without him.
“Co-parenting, what is it? There is no co-parenting. It’s parallel parenting, I suppose. I don’t even know what’s happening over there, it’s miserable,” Meghan admitted Tammin Sursok And Roxy Manning on the March 22 episode women at the top podcast.
According to Meghan, she and Jim are using a court-ordered app to communicate. While she finds it “beautiful,” it doesn’t make her feel completely protected.
“It’s meant to mitigate some of the verbal abuse, which hasn’t happened lately and I feature that on my private subscriptions page on my Instagram,” she revealed. “When a narcissist is exposed like that, they don’t like it. They don’t play nice and they never play fair… It’s not like it’s going to necessarily change my well-being… It’ll just show everyone else what he’s really like.”
In addition to feeling that Jim is a “narcissist,” a term he uses to describe her, Meghan has shaded his role as a father to her children.
“I don’t think he really cares about being a parent,” she admitted. “I think he cares about his reputation as a parent. And that’s why I think he’s going to show up for the kids, because that’s what’s expected of a father, which is fine, because I think that’s good for my kids, for them to understand that their father loves them, wherever he is can.
She even predicted that one day he would disappear.
“I see that going away a bit in the future, which would probably be the healthiest option,” she said.
Looking back at the early moments of their relationship, Meghan said “red flags” were rampant with Jim, claiming he bombarded her with lavish gifts and trips when they first started dating.
“I see exactly what happened and how I fell for his trap. And I fell in love with him, really and with all my heart. I loved this man and he set me up,” she claimed.
Now, years after her five-year marriage came to an abrupt end over cheating allegations, Meghan has said she continues to be abused by her ex.
“He doesn’t think I’m working. He says to me, “You don’t work,” or he sends me pictures of my face and says, “What have you done to yourself? You look terrible.’ Always fun [of me] to this day,” she shared.
Jim also tried to get Meghan to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
“All I have is my voice. I didn’t get any money from him, I didn’t get any love from him, he shits on me all the time, but what I have is my voice and no one’s going to silence it,” she explained of her decision not to have it sign.
Moving on to lighter topics, Meghan recalled a recent date she had with a woman.
“It was great, it was a lot of fun,” she shared. “I was totally open.”
But despite thinking she might be a lesbian and wondering, “Is that why things didn’t work out for me?” she has since discovered that she is “not a lesbian.”
“I identify as straight, but I don’t really feel like I need to identify as anything … I’m straight,” she clarified.
Then, after realizing that she is currently dating a man, she revealed that she won’t be marrying him weeks into their relationship like she did with her now ex-husband Cuff Biden Owensto whom she was married for a few months at the end of 2021.
While Megan was quick to say “I do” after just a few weeks with Cuffe, she admitted on the podcast that she “didn’t want to get married.”
“He wanted. He begged me to get married,” she revealed. “He said it was important to be a stepdad and not a boyfriend, and so on [tugged] to my heart because I was a stepmother.”
