Prince Harry surprised royal viewers when he arrived at the High Court in London for a hearing in his tabloid action against Associated Newspapers Ltd, publishers of the Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday and MailOnline. Other high-profile celebrities such as Elton John and David Furnish were also on trial.
The Duke of Sussex, who is landing in the UK, comes just weeks before the coronation of King Charles III, which Harry has not said whether or not he will attend. But one royal commentator believes that appearance can be summed up in one word that leads to the historic event. Here’s what that is, plus what some body language observed about Harry’s “cocky bragging” as he entered the courtroom.

Harry didn’t have to appear in person for the hearing against ANL and that has led to speculation that he had an ulterior motive to fly in.
Australian commentator Daniela Elser has called Harry’s trip a “stunt”. She wrote on news.com.au: “Harry’s trip to London has ‘Stunt’ written all over it. You see, Monday’s court visit was just a preliminary hearing and Harry wasn’t there to testify. Remote access was reportedly provided, meaning Aitch could have followed things online from the comfort of his Montecito meditation yurt…
“Having him show up in person in the UK, for only the fifth time in over three years, was a surefire way to ensure the court case received serious publicity.”
The body language expert says Harry had a “cocky boast” when he came to court
Body language expert Judi James analyzed video of Prince Harry entering the courtroom on Monday and noted that the Duke appeared “confident” in front of the cameras and even had a “cocky swagger” about him.
James told The Sun: “Harry walks into court with what looks so much like cocky boasting and seems to want to appear to be enjoying himself right up until the moment he collides with the photographer. He makes a great display by buttoning his coat. Constantly fumbling with buttons is often part of his auto-touch anxiety rituals when he’s under pressure, but it’s not the same gesture. Instead of jitters, it’s another sign of confidence when he uses the big dark CEO-style coat to raise his impression of businesslike power to the level you might see The Apprentice.
“Harry’s jaw is set out in a signal of determination and a desire to fight, and his narrow smile gives the impression that he thinks he can win. His airy ‘Morning!’ he looks just as confident to the press, but suddenly he crashes into the photographer and the mood music changes a bit. He holds out his arm in surprise, and as he picks himself up, his backward glance indicates possible irritation.”
On Tuesday, Harry tried to dodge waiting photographers as he entered the Supreme Court. He did not attend the third day of the hearing.
The Duke will not meet Prince William or the King in the UK
Because of Harry’s ongoing attrition with his brother and father, many have wondered if the Duke had any plans to meet up with them while he was in town. Well, that’s supposedly not happening.
Prince William is currently neither in London nor at his home in Windsor Park. The Prince of Wales is at his residence, Amner Hall, in Norfolk, around 100 miles outside the capital. He spends time there with the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) and their three children.
The king, meanwhile, was due to be in France earlier in the week but his trip has been postponed amid protests in the country over pension reforms. However, the monarch is said to have been too busy to meet Harry as he still had a European state visit planned and was traveling to Germany on Wednesday.
