Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas has insisted there is “nothing wrong” with her blossoming romance with Matthew Lawrence.

The 52-year-old singer began dating the former ‘Boy Meets World’ actor, 43, last year after splitting from former ‘Dancing with the Stars’ pro Cheryl Burke, and Chilli now says the relationship is complete “real” defended.

Speaking to the New York Post column PageSix at the Variety’s Power of Women luncheon, she explained, “It’s real and there’s nothing wrong with it. I’m here with him because I want to be and he wants it. We’re just so happy, we really are.

“I honestly didn’t think I would experience what I’m experiencing now [in my relationship] and I was okay with that.”

She added of her husband, “He changed everything about how I look at relationships. It’s so different.”

Matthew has previously spoken openly about how they got together, revealing that they met at an event but only really connected when they were on the same flight.

However, the chance meeting almost didn’t materialize because they only ended up on the same plane after a snowstorm ruined Matthew’s travel plans.

During an appearance on ‘Entertainment Tonight’ he explained: “So we were on this thing. We worked. We just said hello in passing and probably nothing would have come of it, but there was this big blizzard. I had to go back to work so I got them [the airline] to change my flights all around.

“The only flight I was able to get was a connecting flight via Atlanta. She lives in Atlanta. So she flew on this flight. So actually it was the flight, the talking and afterwards saying: ‘Hey, let’s keep in touch.’

“It really did it, and it almost didn’t happen. I mean, literally an hour before departure, they said, ‘Okay, we put you on this flight. You have to go.’ So it was something like that.”
