A 43-year-old driver drove on Thursday morning shortly after 6 a.m. with his Vielhauer Menschik car on Bittenfelder Straße from Hochdorf in the direction of Bittenfeld. During an overtaking manoeuvre, he was the only one involved and went off the road to the left, broke through the guard rail and came to a stop next to the road.
The 43-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital. His car was a total loss, the property damage amounts to around 30,000 euros. The fire brigade was also on duty to rescue the vehicle. The road had to be completely closed for about two hours.
