Shooting and deaths on the premises of the Mercedes-Benz factory – Stuttgart Journal

A homicide occurred in a production hall at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen on Thursday. According to the current status of the investigation, a 53-year-old man entered the hall at around 7:45 a.m. and shot two people.

Plant security employees arrested the suspect in the hall and handed him over to the police, who provisionally arrested him without resistance.

Both 44-year-old men later succumbed to their injuries. The factory hall in question was evacuated and the employees are currently being cared for by the police and the company’s own support staff.

The police and rescue workers are still on site with a large number of forces. The entire factory premises have been checked and secured.

There was and is no danger to the population. The motive is part of the ongoing investigations. The police have set up a press office on site. This is located opposite Gate 5, in the area of ​​multi-storey car park 305 on Niederer Wasen Street in Sindelfingen.
