House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said Monday he had identified “six other members” of the Biden family who “may” have benefited from the Biden family’s dealings and vowed to continue investigating whether those deals were a constitute a “threatening threat to national security”.
Comer, R-Ky., and members of the committee, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene, R-Ga., visited the Treasury Department Monday to review financial records related to the Biden family and their past business partners as part of their investigation.

“Thousands of pages of financial records related to the Biden family, their businesses and the business plans of their employees have been made available to members of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, confirming the importance of this investigation,” Comer said in a statement Monday afternoon.

“The Biden family business is focused on Joe Biden’s political career and connections and has brought the Biden family an exorbitant amount of money,” Comer said.
After reviewing the documents, Comer said the panel “identified six other members of Joe Biden’s family who may have benefited from the Biden family businesses we are investigating, bringing the total number of participants or beneficiaries to nine.”

“The oversight committee will continue to track additional bank records to trace the tangled web of the Bidens’ financial transactions and to determine if the Biden family has been targeted by foreign actors and if there is a national security threat,” Comer said, promising “the public with more soon.” to provide information about what we have discovered so far.”
He added, “The American people need transparency and accountability, and the Oversight Committee will provide much-needed answers.”

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The inspection of the additional financial documents comes after the Treasury Department told Comer last month that it would grant the committee “under-camera access” to suspicious activity reports (SARs) related to Hunter Biden and the Biden family’s overseas operations.
The Treasury declined to comment on the matter, but in previous letters the agency has indicated that the data is sensitive to law enforcement and is protected under the Bank Secrecy Act.
Last month, Fox News Digital reported that members of the Biden family received more than $1 million in payments from accounts related to Hunter Biden’s business partner Rob Walker and their Chinese business ventures in 2017, as of financial documents subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee.

Those records were obtained after the committee subpoenaed Bank of America, which revealed that “at least three family members” received lucrative payments from a bank account owned by Walker. This account is called Robinson Walker, LLC and one of the family members is Hallie Biden, widow of President Biden’s son Beau.
A spokesman for Hunter Biden’s legal team confirmed the payments last month, but stressed that the accounts “belonged to Hunter, his uncle and Hallie — no one else.”

Fox News has confirmed that the Oversight Committee has subpoenaed Bank of America, Cathay Bank, JPMorgan Chase and HSBC USA NA, as well as Hunter Biden’s former business partner Mervyn Yan, asking for financial records related to its investigation.
Fox News first reported in 2020 that the federal investigation into Hunter Biden’s “tax affairs” began amid discovery of SARs relating to funds from “China and other foreign nations.”
At the time, a Treasury Department official, who did not comment on the investigation, told Fox News that SARs are filed by financial institutions “when something unusual occurs in a particular transaction.”

Fox News first reported the existence of some sort of investigation involving Hunter Biden in October 2020, ahead of the last presidential election. At that time it became known that the FBI had subpoenaed the laptop allegedly belonging to Hunter Biden as part of an ongoing money laundering investigation.
Hunter Biden confirmed investigation into his “tax affairs” in December 2020 after his father was elected president.
The investigation is being led by Trump-appointed US Attorney David Weiss of Delaware.
