SPD in NRW: The search for a new chairman – politics

Nobody knows a quick way out. And no comrade knows the panacea that could infuse his SPD with new energy and old strength – after six years of infirmity in North Rhine-Westphalia. The misery of the largest state association of German social democracy is plaguing many, including those in Berlin for a long time: “If we want to win the next federal election, we need a strong NRW-SPD,” warns Dietmar Nietan, himself a Rhinelander and at least treasurer and member of the federal party’s executive committee with the Süddeutsche Zeitung.
