“He was a loving husband and soul mate to his wife Jess, a treasured son-in-law and son-in-law, and a dear friend. “He will be greatly missed and always in our hearts and memories.”

His wife, Jessica Shanks, shared her devastation in a Facebook post: “It is with great sadness that I want to announce the loss of my wonderful husband, Stephen Shanks.”

“Her passing from him was sudden and unexpected. He was coming home from spending the day running the London Marathon. “As you can imagine, I am absolutely in shock and devastated.”
