Still Trailer: Michael J. Fox Documentary About Parkinson’s Disease

Apple has released the official trailer for its highly anticipated documentary, Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, which is set to premiere on May 12.

Still follows Fox, the legendary Back to the Future and Teen Wolf actor, as he tells his life story, from childhood in Canada to his career as one of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Director Davis Guggenheim embellishes Fox’s story by incorporating documentary, archival and screenplay elements that come together to immerse viewers in the world of Fox.

In interviews with Guggenheim, Fox recounts the difficult years following his diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease, a brain disorder that causes uncontrollable movements, at just 29 years old. Fox, 61, who has come to terms with the disease, tells in the trailer how living with Parkinson’s has made him a “tough son of a bitch”.

Ahead of the global premiere of Still on Apple TV+, the film screened at both the Sundance and SXSW film festivals earlier this year. After the film’s Sundance premiere diversity‘s Peter Debruge wrote in his review: “Fox is a charismatic guy, and although his personal history has been overshadowed by Parkinson’s disease, Guggenheim’s upbeat and highly polished documentary is a reminder of what an upbeat, relatable personality he was – and is – Screen.”

Guggenheim also served as producer on the documentary, alongside Annetta Marion, Jonathan King, Will Cohen, and executive producers Nelle Fortenberry, Jonathan Silberberg, Nicole Stott, and Laurene Powell Jobs. Michael Harte (“Three Identical Strangers”) acted as editor.
