The Flash │ New images detail the hero’s makeshift costume

New images from The Flash show more of the makeshift costume worn by the hero, as well as an encounter with Supergirl

new images of The Flash give more details of what fans will find in the long-awaited Scarlet Speedster feature – including elements that have already been shown in the trailers, but without due emphasis. This is the case, for example, of the suit used by the alternative Barry Allen (Ezra Miller), who will enter the scene with nothing less than an improvised Batman uniform.

This hastily made outfit is something that had been shown before, but always in action scenes between the two Flashes that didn’t allow us to look more closely at these small details of the characterization. So, what we have now is an opportunity to look at these elements a little more calmly, even to understand what it all means.

What the images and the trailers released so far suggest is that we will see the main Barry going to the past to see or even try to prevent the murder of his mother, which results in a change in the timeline. So, when he returns to what should be his present, he finds a totally different world in which he himself never received his powers – which causes him and his variant to seek Batman’s help.

It must be in this context that we will see this alternate Flash gain his super speed and an improvised uniform made from an old Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton) suit, even more so because they don’t have much time to think about design, since the world is under threatens with the arrival of General Zod (Michael Shannon).

The interesting thing is that this is a very clever solution to put two Flashes on screen without confusing the audience. On one side, we have the main hero with his slim uniform. On the other, this alternative version that has armor that is not aerodynamic at all. And just look at the two side by side to realize how different they look.

It is worth remembering that this improvised uniform is something that director Andy Muschietti had already disclosed almost two years ago, but without giving any context about its meaning. At the time, it was speculated that it would be just a joke or conceptual reference related to Batman’s encounter with the Flash, but now we know that it is a literal junction.

Supergirl and other details

The new images show yet other aspects of The Flash, such as a new scene with Supergirl (Sasha Calle) facing the alternate Barry Allen. It’s nothing very significant, just a very beautiful frame in what seems to be the heroine’s definitive entry into the scene after being saved by the heroes of the military base in which she is trapped.

Another curious detail is the focus that one of the photos gives to the ring used by the main Flash. As has been speculated before, the accessory must be used for a technological resource so that the protagonist can wear his costume in a more practical way. So, instead of making him wear a leotard before the action, we have a gadget playing that role.

The Flash opens in theaters on June 15.
