Lori Vallow Daybell’s trial ended abruptly on Wednesday due to unforeseen circumstances. The court will continue on Thursday.
In a statement to East Idaho News, the prosecution team said:
“A death has occurred in the family of one of the senior attorneys at the prosecution. The court and defense have graciously allowed the prosecution to adjust to this personal situation.”
The statement did not disclose who was affected by the death and whether it will result in a change in the team tracking Vallow Daybell. So far, prosecutors have questioned JJ Vallow’s grandmother, a detective who discovered the remains of Vallow and Tylee Ryan, and an investigator investigating the death of Tammy Daybell, Vallow Daybell’s husband’s first wife.
Vallow Daybell faces charges along with her husband Chad Daybell for killing Vallow, Ryan and Tammy in Idaho in 2019. Chad Daybell will stand trial separately from Vallow Daybell. In Arizona, Vallow Daybell is accused of conspiring to kill her first husband, who was fatally shot by her late brother in 2019.
