Thiago Monteiro beats the Australian and moves on to the second round at the ATP 1000 in Miami

Thiago Monteiro debuted with victory at the ATP 1000 in Miami, in the United States, this Thursday, by defeating the Australian Jason Kubler, by 2 sets to 0, with partials of 6/4 and 7/6 (8/6), in 1h40 of the game. Number 81 in the world, Thiago commented on his victory in the important tournament, over his opponent 70th in the ATP.

“Very happy with the victory. I feel that I had been working well and that I also had a good performance in Indian Wells, but there, the victory escaped my hands. Here, I remained firm in what needed to be improved”, said the Brazilian tennis player.

“It was a tough game, against a solid guy, but I managed to be consistent and play with the same solidity from start to finish. The tie-break was complicated. to be able to play my best tennis and win those important points.”
