The Spiderman Franchising has been a big part of actress Kirsten Dunst’s life and career. But filming the iconic superhero series wasn’t always a good time for the superstar.
Kirsten Dunst had no problem telling the ‘Spider-Man’ producers that she hated certain scenes

Dunst was already an established actor when she brought Mary Jane Watson to the big screen. It was a role she was initially drawn to because of the depth she saw in the role. But Dunst wanted to add more depth, making it clear to director Sam Raimi that she wouldn’t just be a victim to be rescued.
“‘I just don’t want to be the damsel in distress. I’ll scream on the balcony, but you gotta let me do some action here,'” she recalled telling Raimi in a resurfaced interview with CNN.
But even after he won the feature, there were certain physical scenes that Haze didn’t like. So she simply refused to do them, no matter how much pressure she was put to change her mind.
“I always said ‘no’. it’s my life you know I remember once with Spiderman, They chased me with this one stunt where they hung me from the ceiling and basically I’m bungee jumping,” Dunst once said, according to Cinemablend. “I didn’t really want to do it, and when I tried, I was like, ‘Well, you should have shot that because I’m never going to do it again. You must find another way. It was scary, I hated it – so you should have shot it because I’ll never do it again.”
Kirsten Dunst came home from working on Spider-Man 3 “depressed”.
Dunst is not a fan of action scenes. But what she might hate more than doing certain stunts is not doing anything at all on set. There was a lot of that for Dunst Spiderman 3which bored the actress to death.
“When it came to the end of our movie, it was like that three-week period that we sat in the trailer, only ripped off on MTV,” she once said in an interview with MTV News. “It was like [My Super] sweet 16; I died in my trailer. Occasionally we took a shot and it [lasts] the blink of an eye in the movie. It’s really exhausting and depressing.”
Luckily, Dunst had a friend in the entertainment industry who had similar feelings about her job at the time. Dunst and her friend were able to vent about their shared work experiences.
“I actually remember my best friend living with me – she works for MTV; she casts reality shows for you. She had come home from her job super bored and depressed and I had come home from mine depressed. We drank pinot grigio and watched american idol and be like, ‘I hate our life!’ For three weeks we had the worst time,” she said.
Kirsten Dunst would have liked to have made another ‘Spider-Man’ movie
Haze was immortalized as a fixture Spiderman Mythology. Still, it’s been a while since she’s portrayed her live-action Mary Jane Watson in any form Spiderman movies. The franchise has since expanded to include a new generation of actors that have included the likes of Zendaya and Tom Holland. When asked about her thoughts on the new Spiderman movies, but Dunst didn’t mince his words.
“I don’t care,” she said in a 2017 Variety interview. “Everyone likes ours Spiderman. Come on, am I right or what? Listen, I’d rather be with the firsts than the new ones.”
If she had one major regret about her own franchise, it was that she didn’t pick up her story from where it left off Spider-Man 3.
“I really wanted to be in this movie,” Dunst said. “I loved it and I wish we could have done a fourth.”
