Which really helps against muscle cramps

Dhe thought came to me while swimming alone in the middle of a lake in Sweden, looking at the banks and trees. What do I actually do if I get a cramp? Loneliness is tempting and dangerous at the same time. I like just swimming out, it gives me a feeling of freedom. Most of the time I don’t think about it.

What happens when you have a cramp? And are some people more at risk? I call the deputy federal doctor of the German Life Saving Society, Dr. Dorothee Dill.

“With increasing age, there is obviously a disturbance in the coordination of neuromuscular excitation,” says Dill. The result is increased nerve impulses in the muscle fibers; as a result, the muscle contracts more and does not relax in time.
