Who will be “Sports Star of the Month” in April in the district of Augsburg?


Vote! Five sports stars from the district of Augsburg have been nominated for the “Sportstars” election in April. We present them here.

Anyone who achieves extraordinary things should be rewarded: That’s why we’re looking for the “Sports Star of the Month”, who was particularly successful in April in the Augsburg district. Nicole Kellermann (ASV Hiltenfingen/archery): Nicole Kellermann has dedicated herself to archery for seven years and has explicitly dedicated herself to compound bows. Most recently, she took third place at the German Masters Championships. In addition, she and her husband Manfred Kellermann set up an archery department at ASV Hiltenfingen. A remarkable commitment in the sporting and voluntary sector.

Arthur Alt (TSV Steppach/referee): The 83-year-old has been part of the guild for over 60 years, without which football would not be possible. He is a referee with body and soul. Artur Alt has not only directed well over 8,000 games, but also coordinated the assignments of his colleagues in the Augsburg district in around 120,000 games as a one-piece team leader. He whistled for the national league for ten years, today he only whistles for games he can cycle to.

Marco Spengler (SV Ottmarshausen/football): The 31-year-old has been one of the top scorers in the district for years. Both at SpVgg Westheim and at his current club SV Ottmarshausen, he has been top scorer several times. He managed a very special feat in the 6-1 win against FC Stätzling II. Since Spengler scored a total of five goals, including a flawless hat trick within just three minutes.

Thomas Heiss (TSV Schwabmunchen/Taekwondo) has been a department head and trainer for over 30 years. He has won several regional, Bavarian and German championships as well as several World Games victories, always remaining down to earth. His biggest highlight will probably be hosting the 2023 World Games in Schwabmünchen. In 2022 he crowned this competition in Podcetrtek with first place.

TSV Schwabmünchen (Handball-A-Juniorinnen): For the first time in the history of the handball players of TSV Schwabmünchen, a team has entered the list of winners of the German Handball Association. The A-Juniors won the DHB Cup. After a 33:22 home win against the Bundesliga juniors BSV Sachsen Zwickau, the TSV girls were even able to afford a 30:31 defeat in the second leg.
