Young people get their first job while complying with socio-educational measures at Degase

The General Department of Socio-Educational Actions of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Degase) celebrated the admission of another 10 young apprentices to the job market. The youths, who are serving a socio-educational measure of semi-freedom in various Integrated Resource Centers for Adolescent Assistance (Criaads), were selected for the Young Apprentice Program, a project that enables resocialization through access to legal work. The opportunity was made possible due to the partnership signed between the company Renapsi and Degase. In addition to these, another 19 socio-educational students are already in the hiring process.

The teenagers, who got their first formal job, will work in the administrative service of a bank. Degase’s professionalization director, Bianca Veloso, explains that the achievement is part of the professional education project “Novos Caminhos”, one of the arms of the Somos project.

The general director of Degase, Victor Poubel, points out that the implementation of socio-educational measures depends on a complex set of actions so that each stage can be advanced until reaching the final objective, which is the rehabilitation and reintegration of adolescents into society in a dignified manner. and sustainable.

In all stages of the process until their hiring, the young people were accompanied by the technical teams. The entire multidisciplinary structure designed to prepare each of these young people, they need to be linked to the school education network to participate in the selection process for the Young Apprentice. And everyone is enrolled and attending school at the elementary and middle levels – signaled the director.

The State Secretary of Education, Roberta Barreto, stated that one of the priorities of the Secretariat and of Degase is to promote youth employability, and that this is the main means of reducing the rate of recidivism of infractions, he concluded.

Of the other 19 young people who are already in the hiring process and will be the next to get their first job, five will work as administrative staff in a bank and another 14 will work in simulated environments at Senai, 11 in the baker and confectioner area and another three for the building mason area.
