According to the police, a group of young people and a teacher were attacked and racially insulted in a train by supporters of FC Hansa Rostock in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on Saturday. According to the police, two young people and the teacher are said to have been beaten by Hansa fans.

Among other things, the group of around 20 Hansa fans is said to have shouted “foreigners, foreigners pigs out”. A 37-year-old suspect said he was also beaten and slightly injured.

Level: “Incident finally unbearable”

The youth group consisted of tolerated migrants between the ages of 10 and 18. The police are evaluating video recordings and investigating charges of bodily harm and incitement to hatred.

The federal government’s integration commissioner, Reem Alabali-Radovan, was shocked by the incident. “Violence and racism must have no place in MV!” She tweeted on Sunday. “As a society, we need to take more decisive action against racism. Sports clubs also have a responsibility here.”

State Interior Minister Christian level (SPD) said on Sunday evening: “The fact that a group of adults attacks minors is already a cowardly act – the fact that it is said that this happened for racist motives makes this incident finally unbearable.” He is counting on the rule of law reacting quickly and very clearly.
